Question For Rendering memory as 1:1 or should be faster?

Stupid question for rendering i should have 1:1 ratio or faster memory?

which would be better?

Ratio doesn't really matter. It's the speed that counts.

Try both and see what renders faster. I doubt it will make much of a difference either way, though. Most of the performance (for rendering) comes from CPU speed.

You are most likely hitting the first FSB wall in the 680i chipset.. it can be impossible to POST sometimes, unless you skip past ~340-370mhz FSB..going straight to 400mhz FSB. My Q6600 doesnt like my 780i either

If your using Vista: Try using a USB drive for your scratch disk, with 'Ready-boost'.

**Also, for ANY Nvidia chipset:

RAM will always run faster, linked and synced in your BIOS, with your FSB.

Try for 4-3-3-5 @ 460mhz FSB.. you should get close to breaking 11k Read speeds, as seen in Everest.. wont get any better than that with Nvidia [unless of course you up FSB or tighten RAM timings further].
