No, what I'm saying, if the case fans on his new case are 4-pin, then he can just plug them into the PSU. You can plug more than on fan into a 4-pin connection on the psu

I'm sure that they would come with a molex converter, but fan controllers are soooo coooool.

Fan Controllers are great and they truly do look good. I was thinking about getting one because my 2 stock fans just blow. Thats it. They always are blowing out...constantly. But, because of the useful help of Einstein Jr., he explained to me a hydraulic effect of air. So I put in a couple fabric washers between the fans and the case, and Viola, no more F-16's launching during my startup!! I can barely hear them now.

Would you guys say it would be worth buying a new mobo/psu and overclocking?

I have the northwood core, does this overclock well at all?

Thanks

OMG yes! That will overclock like a beauty! You can get a great mobo/psu for under $400... and it's so much more fun than what you've got.

Edit: Northwood's also run a lower temps, so you can OC with stock cooling, but from what I understand, ur water cooling and that'll be great.

If you change the motherboard, youll have to change the psu. If you change the psu, youll have to change the motherboard. Dell psu's only work with dell motherboards, and dell motherboards only work with dell psu's. This is because dell power supplies have a unique pin layout on the motherboard connector.

Thats great to know, but I think my ram might end up holding me back. I got the motherboard monitor program to find out what kind of ram I got, which was dissapointing.

I have 4 x 512 Sticks of Samsung Ram

Think there is any overclocking potential for that sorry ram?

BTW - This just goes to show you how cheap dell really is.

ROFL... yeah, Dell will do that. So you have 2 gigs or memory? Wow... I think you can get DDR2 2x 512 sticks for pretty cheap, so no worry there. The memory in the end will be your limiting factor for when you try to break 4.0 GHz, but not until then, I don't think.

I don't think the socket 478 supports DDR2 memory. I'll have to get some good DDR memory to overclock.
