Default Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz

Hello, i need some help with ocing a Q6600, i want to know how far i can clock it to get max performance out of it. this is on an asus mobo P5K i got second hand. thank you very kindly for any help.

First try getting this done here.

Generally with a decent air cooling you can push the q6600 to 3.6ghz max. A lot of max possible oc is dependent on how good your chip is so that you can push the chip higher with less volts.

Every processors different even if it's the same model, you're mostly limited on max Over clock by how good a cooling system you have and what the VID on the chip is, for that use CPUZ. Most of the Q6600s I see around here are between 3.0-3.6 ghz and very few over 3.6

My guess is you can expect at least 3ghz on your chip, better cooling and you can get in the mid 3ghz range
