I'm about to purchase a P45XE to use with 2* Gigabyte HD4670's.
However on the Crossfire Card Support list its only got Powercolor.. will i run into any problems?? Also, I think my ram and psu should be right but just want to make sure! RAM PSU Thanks for all your help!

You shouldn't have problem with the video card, the brand of card doesn't matter, the 4670 chipset is supported, so you're fine. Although if you haven't got the 4670 yet, you might want to look into getting the 4830 instead, it has 2x the stream processor (640 vs 320sp), and it's only a few dollar more.
__________________As for the ram, I had problem booting with my ram when I first got my board, because Asrock set the default voltage to 1.8v, so some high performance ram may not be able to boot. I had to borrow a friend's ram to boot into bios and set the timing and voltage manually. But after that I don't have any problems with it. So if it won't boot with your ram, just use one stick of ram from your sig rig to boot into bios and manually raise the voltage.

i never saw the 4830.. but ill certainly consider it over the 4670.
i cant crossfire a 4670 + 4830 but its certainly tempting to sell my current one & upgrade. thanks for the ram info also! cant wait to buy my parts tomorrow

jebus101 and awdrifter,
I'm also planning to buy this board because I found at a great bargain. I just want to know if your mobo detected your corsair rams and automatically set the voltage to 1.8 or 1.9v(?) recommended voltage. If not, then did you have to go into the Bios first and set it to 1.9v? Thanks. |

This is only my list too, all that gear for 74 quid and a 2 year guarantee.
edit: was gonna go for the P45TT2000 but I don't think I'll bother upgrading to DDR3 for a while, so I sidestepped the the P45XE

My board (P45TurboTwins2000) was not able to detect the correct voltage and timing for my ram (Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2-800 2x2GB, 2.2v, 4-4-412 timing). I had to borrow my friend's ram to boot into bios and manually change the settings to the specified settings for my ram. But other than that, I don't have any problems with the board.

No, it wouldn't boot into bios at all. I get 3 beeps and just blank screen.
