AMD Overclocker
![]() |
I know many people are going to laugh at this but here I go. I'm creating a Gaming PC that will play classic(DOS) games. So my goal here is to create a over-the-top "Classic Gaming PC" for playing old games. I'm going to throw some LEDs and all kinds of goodies in the case.
![]() I have this old Compaq that I'm going to use for parts I got a working, Mobo, RAM and CPU(p1 133mhz). The CD-ROM and floppy are shot, the PSU won't be able to handle much lighting(plus its old and crappy) and the case is just...old and cramped. So I need a good case(with a window, preferably, $50 max) and a low power (under 250w or less is fine) PSU that will hold up well. Any suggestions?

Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156226
Looks pretty nice as it is, with good potential for the LED lighting. And comes in under budget at $39.99. ATX Case, has a window and nice colour scheme Thermaltake 430W. Enough power to leave room for upgrade. $35.99 ($25.99 after $10.00 Mail-In Rebate) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153023 EDIT: I would check the reviews on the case first though. But at that price it seems a winner, and it's not like you're gonna be overclocking in it, and putting a 250 graphics card in there. Should suit your needs and price range.

Yeah that case looks good, I think I will go with the blue version though.
As for the PSU I'm going to have to check to see that is going to work, these old mobos have some different(older) connectors on em'.... Any other thoughts?

I have to say I really like the idea!
You should try to incorporate a 'Turbo' button. Remember those?

Well the stock PSU is massive 75W!
I will post pictures later of the old PC later, this mobo uses a p9(6-pin) and p8(6-pin) for mobo power. Me thinks I'm going to need a AT PSU, or an adapter.I'm going to start to work on this at the end of the month(when I get paid), any suggestions until then? lol @ the turbo button.

Even though this is $60/$40 AR, I like the blue. Also it is a good deal bigger/roomier and toolless.

I still have a case with a turbo button on it. It would be sick to see it with one.

Dusty but otherwise, in good shape. ![]() Well I think I will be getting this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817707002 Should do fine for what I will be powering. Any further opinions now that you have seen the pictures?
