Default newbie help

I built myself a gaming computer a few months ago and just started overclocking it. I watched my temps as I went up in FSB and they all stayed below 60 degree's celsius. I finally hit a point where my computer wouldn't boot if I added any more fsb. which was 1950Mhz, my clock speed was 4.10Ghz. Is there anyway to get me that extra 50mhz. I want my 2ghz fsb.
my computer is as follows.

Motherboard: XFX 790i
Processor : Intel Q9550
Ram : Corsair 8Gb of DDR3 at 1600Mhz.
Power supply: 850Watt Corsair
all in an Antec 1200 case.

any idea's suggestions ? would water cooling help ?

if this is in the wrong forum, please tell me, and move it. I'm kinda new

You could go for better TIM, maybe a beefier heatsink. What voltage are you giving the CPU and northbridge?

What were your temps with the highest bootable overclock you did?

You need to provide us with all of your bios settings....FSB, Multi, DRAM frequency, VCore(CPU voltage), NB Chip voltage, FSB : DRAM auto/linked/unlinked? Knowing how all of your CPU features are set will help also.

TIM is thermal interface material==thermal paste/grease.

Try raising your CPU FSB voltage to 1.35 or 1.40V. You are taking your FSB very high and 1.30V probably won't do it. You might also need to bump up your VCore a little to make the system post.

VCore is the CPU Core voltage. If you do have to increase it more...keep an eye on temperatures. Personally, I don't let a 45nm Intel chip go over 65ºC under load.
