I've noticed a thread like this in the FAQs but it is around 3 years old so I decided to help a few people who are new to this idea by creating this thread.

The first build I will give an example for is for a budget of £400:

Budget of £500:

RAM: TWIN2X4096-8500C5 (£49.04 Inc VAT)
GFX Card: BFG GTX 260 896MB (£167.05 Inc VAT)
PSU: Corsair Modular CMPSU-620HXUK (£95.44 Inc VAT)
Total: £523.07
