if you plan on overclocking I would get a different cooler, I hear the Megatron and Baram are good heat killers for the i7. Even if you don't they'll help make your chip last longer

Okay first off, go with the 10$ more expensive 260. Its the 216 shader and should be 55nm. For motherboards, go with one of these instead. There is lots of good info on overclocking and most folks here can help with them. Asus P6T V2 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131365 Gigabyte UD4P - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128374 EVGA A1 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188039 Hard drives - Go with 2 or 3 WD 640 blacks and put them in raid 0. This will give you amazing read/write speeds and a ton of storage space. If you need to back them up, pick up a 1TB drive and store important stuff on that. PSU - I think most would agree that one of these would be a better choice. Corsair 750TX - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006 PC Power & Cooling - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703009 For the cooler, you'll want either the TRUE,Megatron? (lol), or the Noctua. Might as well get a good cooler if you are going to overclock.

Thanks for the response chavez885 I appreciate it. I believe that PSU is the better one however I want modular and will sacrifice to keep that modular.
__________________On the mother boards. I'm not an over clock person, but I would like to take advantage of this. Nothing extreme or crazy just maybe 3.*mhz range. I'm hoping that the Biostar can post that, it will keep the price down. I changed the GPU to the one you guys mentioned. I'm changing the heat sink cooler, but I worry about those you mentioned not having fans on them. Is this the better cooler?

I have punched the Biostar board and the Asus board you recommended into youtube (odd you can get great reviews on yourtube) and I believe the Asus is edging the Biostar out I think the power is the key feeding that i7 with stable power is worth the extra $30.00 bucks.

Well you'll need to purchase fans separately for the TRUE and Meg, if you aren't doing crazy overclocking pick up the Noctua, it looks good, works great and its QUIET. I'm @ 4.0 using that cooler with the stock fans. **edit** Just noticed you picked out a 43$ dvd burner? Not sure why, these work fine, save you 20$ for that Asus board ![]() http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151171 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151171

Okay here is what I bought.
__________________I do not need SLi so I went down to the PE Asus board, exact same as the deluxe just doesn't have SLi but with a much lower price. This worked perfect for me as I wanted to be $1500.00 or less the system and it came in right at that. Thanks for the help with the mobo guys. This will be a killer box and I can't wait to overclock it. time to research all that, thanks to the website...it should be painless. I ended up getting the OS and the CPU at Tiger Direct, they have a great combo deal on those 2 right now. I also bought the GPU there as well, they beat Newegg's price on it. All the rest was purchased from Newegg. So if you are looking for a top end tricked out system for $1500.00 this is it! If you want SLi add $70 to this and bingo ultra game rig. I will try to do one of those build logs and post it. Oh one note before anyone asks. The ram is super cheap for Patriot Viper right now. It is listed on Asus's QVL for the 1600 series, the Corsair I wanted which was a lot more money was not listed. Just fyi on the ram choice there. Quote:
