DX11 will come and we will not see many games for DX11 for at least 6 months so DX10.1 will help. I would get a 4890 just because of the OC potential.

I will have to say I would snatch up a GTX 275, they are some fine cards and fold like a champ.
__________________But if you are trying for a cheap as possible scenario I would have to say HD4890. It's a close call it really is. What's your preference, that's what it boils down to right now in this gfx market. Both cards have a so called selling point. Which selling point do you care about and think you might use the most. Hell right now you can even go with what color scheme you like most on the cards and it not make a difference hardly ![]() You're comparing and asking about 2 cards that just go head to head right now. The GTX275 isn't far behind the GTX285 either since it's just got a crippled mem bus and that's about it.

They're both good cards, however the 275 is more on par with a 4870 and not a 4890. A 4890 is more on par with a GTX280.
That said, ATi cards run HOT! And from what I have noticed they're louder than nvidia cards as well. As for the difference in Crysis, turn AA on and watch Nvidias advantage go away quickly. ATi's handle AA considerably better than Nvidia cards. Also, another good benchmark, if you have it, is FarCry2. Turn everything up on high or ultra high, max all of the fire options, shadows, and such, it's every bit as demanding as Crysis. Either way they're both good cards, however for the money I think a 4890 would be better unless you fold, then its a no brainer to get an Nvidia card. Good Luck PS: Out of that list that supports physx, I only have 2, and am considering getting a 3rd (mass effect). And BTW, you can install an Nvidia card to be a dedicated physx card if you're running an ATi as your primary graphics adapter.

ATi and Nvidia release Havok and DX 10.1, respectively, and neither has an ace. We'll see how well Havok pans out. Hopefully it encourages card makers to develop their games with physics of some sort, because watching rag dolls propel gaily through the air is always fun to watch.

ATi cards do handle AA very well, though.
