I just sent in an EVGA motherboard for RMA, I hope they don't pull anything like this with me. While reading this isn't quite enough for me to boycott EVGA's products, as I've been treated very well with every RMA and customer support, if it happens to me I doubt I'll go back to them in the future. That's just ridiculous.

That could work. Problem is, we shouldn't have to do that. It should come in 100% full working order. It's not our job to make sure they didn't screw up, yet seems like we have to do this with everything nowadays.

have you thought about going onto EVGA's forum and throwing a fit there?
That'll probably just get deleted. They can't afford to have their loyal forum members get swayed by the truth.

Uortunatly, this hasnt been a rare occurance recently. I remember a few weeks a go, a thread almost EXACTLY like this one, bent pin... refusal to RMA... its just not right.

I had to send my 680i back for the 4th or 5th time...i can't even remember. But i borrowed an SLR and took pics, printed some out, and threw them in the box stapled to the front of the RMA sheet. I didn't want to take any chances knowing what they've been doing to people lately.

I really hope it doesn't come to that. The board I sent in wasn't actually damaged, it just didn't perform very well (couldn't boot with any OC whatsoever) and leading up to it EVGA tech was extremely helpful. Couldn't ship it right away so they postponed the RMA expiration date, accepted RMA without an invoice (couldn't get one from Dell), etc.

I sent it with the cover over the socket, and I think I'll send Jacob a message stating so. He's the only person I've dealt with from EVGA and has always been incredibly helpful. Crossing my fingers.

Could we get some folders in here. Maybe this can stir them up, making them push EVGA out of the F@H race. It makes me tempted to fold again just so that I can be like "Yea EVGA, you really arent all that great".

I posted this in your thread in the rants section:
Quote:
these threads are appearing more and more regularly now, either there are a lot of idiots bending pins on the boards and then RMA'ing them or someone at EVGA needs firing for dropping all the mobo's.There was a thread earlier where a guy with a 750 sent his in and got an email back about "how there was water damage on his graphics card".Last time I looked a 750 was not a graphics card. They seem to be going downhill at a rapid rate

Oh and you can add me to the EVGA so called mini boycott. I quit buying them a few months ago after screwing a friend over on an rma of a 750i. Almost a similar issue is what's eerie to me, he was on his 3rd rma when they called him out on the same thing, only his wasn't bent when he shipped it off.(and yes he used the cover)

Because, I was a dumbass and did not bother to check the CPU socket seeing if anything inside that was bent. I thought logically, if it was passed through their inspection, it should be fine. I was wrong.
