I'm looking to upgrade my system to do some HD video editing in Adobe Premier Pro CS4. So, look at my sig and tell me what I should upgrade/change.

If $ is not a concern than CF that 4890 and maybe up the psu to the hx1000. With video editing u may wanna consider duel monitors.
O and a bag of peanut m&m's....

everything is perfect in your rig for video editing. If you want to upgrade something, upgrade to 12 GB RAM.

Honestly, nothing I can think of worth upgrading, besides things that won't help improve video editing. Maybe 12GB RAM, but that's probably overkill even for HD, i7s are designed for this no need for a new CPU.
Maybe a better CPU cooler to help the CPU stay cool making it work more efficiently/faster? Honestly though, keep it as it is.

Need 12GB RAM and probably some raptors for the OS and current project files, then once finished with a project, archive it essentially with the tool in the program. I haven't used Premier CS4, but on Elements I easily use 6GB, and could benefit from some faster drives.

i do HD editing on my sig rig with a 8800GTS with no problems, so it seems like your system is more than enough. i would definitely consider getting another monitor. i use 3, and its amazing how much easier it makes everything. one for the actual editing, one for a full-screen preview, and one extra for whatever i need

moar ram is my rec. your gpu is perfect. the most intensive part of the whole process is the rendering. which your cpu is awesome for.
I use sony vegas 9 for hd video editing, and even on my system, i dont think i could seriously warrant spending any money for upgrades when its plenty fast.

Nothing. Your rig is already overkill. Anyone who tells you you need to upgrade is misinformed.
__________________Video editing is not processing intensive. If you had less RAM, it would take 5 more seconds to initialize the GUI with all the clips displayed, big deal. Your RAM fills because it tries to keep as many things in the memory at a time, but at the end of the day the performance gain is negligible. Encoding is the most intensive part, and 720p encoding rarely uses more than 700MB. 1080p is about 3GB. This of course depends on your settings, and since you seem to be centering around editing rather than encoding, you'll probably use a preset and 1080p will only be like 500-600MB.

Thanks for all the suggestions/opinions guys!
__________________As for the RAM, what memory should I look at getting, would I benefit from getting Dominator GT 2000? I'm also tossing around the idea in my head about getting a workstation video card...your thoughts? Liquid cooling, I was planning on that in the very near future. A second monitor sounds like a good idea. I've edited video on a computer at a company I used to work at and I had two 24" Eizo's...I miss them dearly.

don't know why you would want a workstation video card. Adobe premiere can do everything on a regular video card, and its not like it uses the GPU for a lot of things. CPU is still used mostly.
