IMO you should get the following in order:
1: new hard drive. SATA, whatever capacity, recommended WD Blue or Black versions (not Green) 2: new graphics - 5830, 5670 or 5770 - something around there when they're released. I do recommend a bigger monitor at some point though.... until you've experienced it you won't understand 3: 4GB RAM 4: new CPU/MB. edit: oh and my dad just bought a TV tuner for my bro - ~$40 AUD so yeah... looking at 25-35 USD there.

The WD green series are low power drives and arent great for performance, they are called green to make you feel better about slower performance I would guess

most if not all Green drives run at a lower RPM (usually 5400) and have power saving features that hurt performance. Seriously, there are much easier and smarter ways to save power in a system.
Black editions usually have more cache and dual controllers where the Blue's don't too, by the way, but the difference isn't that big.
