Default New computer?

Ok My new computer that I just built which is in my sig rig seems to load windows 2x slower than my old computer which is a pentium 3 ghz at 512mb ram, and this one is a lot faster and Isn't it supposed to load windows faster also? Why is it loading it slower? My hard drive is nearly empty also.

Right clicking on the desktop gives that loading pointer near the mouse on my new computer while on my old computer it does it straight up without doing that loading pointer although for the right clicking on the desktop the difference in speed is barely noticeable between the two computers.

Thanks.

I'm sorry to extend this, but I don't understand how it seemed to be the right forum. I mean, that was the Hardware News forum! And once you go into the forum, I think it immediately becomes obvious both from the stickies and the other threads as to what kind of forum it is.

But, nevermind I guess. This has been moved to the correct forum now, so I guess it doesn't matter anymore. But still: pay closer attention, my friend!

Wow...all these responses and not one response to the OP at all................ Even a rant in a thread that still doesn't have an answer.

Let's try some some questions for you. Is this is a clean install of Windows? In other words, did you literally just install Windows and no other programs and it seems to be running slower than on your older machine? If you have installed programs already, go to "Start -> Run" and then type in "msconfig" and then click on the "Startup" tab. On this tab, you can uncheck programs from starting up with Windows. This greatly reduces your start time. Also, do a search for each process to make sure you don't remove something critical. When in doubt, google it. Also, DO NOT uncheck systray.exe from your startup. It is required.
