Default ASRock P45XE RAM compatibility question

Hello all,

This is my first thread in at overclock.net.

I found an ASRock P45XE mobo at a great bargain price and also some Crucial Ballistic DDR2 800mhz RAMs (4 x 1GB sticks).

Here's the link for the RAMs and they are compatible with the mobo:
http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartsp...302EC1A5CA7304

My question is:

When I place all the RAMs in the board and bootup, will the motherboard automatically recognize the RAMs recommended voltage (2.0v for 4-4-4-12 timings) automatically or will it run on default 1.8v (for looser timings of maybe 5-5-5-15)?

If it runs on 1.8v (looser timings), then will the RAMs actually work because the recommended volage is 2.0v?

If it does not run on 1.8v (looser timings), then do I have to go into the BIOS and set the timings and voltage to recommended levels?

I am not going to overclock the board or RAMs at all for the first few months. I do not have a problem if the RAMs run at 1.8v with looser timings as long as they are stable. But how will I know that they are stable?

Thanks in advance.

Only use 1 dimm to test it. Up the voltage in BIOS if the voltage is wrong, a 2.0v dimm should run on 1.8v fine though.

Even if the DRAM voltage is set on Auto, should there by any problem?

If the setting is on Auto, then do the RAMs ususally start at default 1.8v or the recommended voltage? what was the case with your mobo and RAMs?

Thanks.

Not too sure, I'm on that board baby cousin

Try it on auto and check in CPUZ to see if all is well.

Any one know why I cant pm members here?

I've got questions for Asrock P45XE owners.

Are there any dedicated Asrock P45XE threads anywhere?

Thanks.
