Hello all,
This is my first thread in at overclock.net. I found an ASRock P45XE mobo at a great bargain price and also some Crucial Ballistic DDR2 800mhz RAMs (4 x 1GB sticks). Here's the link for the RAMs and they are compatible with the mobo: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartsp...302EC1A5CA7304 My question is: When I place all the RAMs in the board and bootup, will the motherboard automatically recognize the RAMs recommended voltage (2.0v for 4-4-4-12 timings) automatically or will it run on default 1.8v (for looser timings of maybe 5-5-5-15)? If it runs on 1.8v (looser timings), then will the RAMs actually work because the recommended volage is 2.0v? If it does not run on 1.8v (looser timings), then do I have to go into the BIOS and set the timings and voltage to recommended levels? I am not going to overclock the board or RAMs at all for the first few months. I do not have a problem if the RAMs run at 1.8v with looser timings as long as they are stable. But how will I know that they are stable? Thanks in advance. |

Only use 1 dimm to test it. Up the voltage in BIOS if the voltage is wrong, a 2.0v dimm should run on 1.8v fine though.

![]() Try it on auto and check in CPUZ to see if all is well.
