I used to have an old Dell Dimension. I used it as a Print / Storage server.

I have a Dell as my current PC (look at my sig) but i'm ordering a new build. I will be in your situation.

In no particular order, you could:
1) Donate it to charity of choice 2) Use as a file / print server 3) Add cheap security camera for surveillance system 4) Use as "seed machine" for torrents 5) Clean install existing software and give to a younger relative that is just learning computers (This is what I did with my old gx260) Edit: I would have added an obvious seventh "use a folding machine", but that doesn't seem like a viable option for the rig in question.
