Why does my new computer take longer to boot up windows than my older computer? I mean my older computer is a Pentium at 3ghz and this one is a Q9550 and my older computer only has 512 MB ram. They both use the same OS. Isn't it supposed to boot up faster? My older computer has 2 hard drives in it the same speed and 1 has 2 partitions 1 separate for windows OS. Is there anything wrong?
__________________And it also seems like my new computer is slower when right clicking on the desktop. I mean it shows that loading pointer, although it's barely noticeable why does it seem slower for many. It's faster in like games and like when you right click on I cons or open files and things like that. Thanks.

Maybe a virus/malware/spyware? Check using something like Housecall.
Maybe try a fresh install of your OS if all else fails, good luck.

Services!...you may have to many services enabled at start up.
Also you can stop alot of start up apps, go to run, type in MSCONFIG, under the startup tab there are things u can uncheck to not start up when u start the pc.

It doesn't make sense. It's still the same OS and installation, there is same services and applications left. How it could be too much for an Q9550 if it's not for a pentium.

it's running at 2.83 ghz. Although my power saving technology is enabled in bios which is default, and it saves power and uses only how much it needs to in ghz.

But gera: just like I said in the other thread, I still say that you should go to Black Viper's website and do what I suggested. Please try to trust me: it is well worth the time and effort.
