No you can. You just need to unlink the RAM from your FSB.
Then set the RAM to 1800mhz in your BIOS. Your chip not being able to do 450FSB won't cause you not to have 1800mhz RAM as long as you unlink RAM from your FSB.

Then you'll have to manually set the RAM to it's rated Speed/Voltage/TImings.

You can't unlink your ram because you have an Intel board. However one very simple method with the Gigabyte boards is to increase the memory multiplier. Increasing the memory multiplier will raise your memory speed.

Ok I don't think my system hanging just after post has anything to do with memory, it's hangs every time I reboot even on the times in manages to get into windows. Is my motherboard gone or is this still a memory issue?

It could be a Memory issue, are you trying to run it @ 1800mhz?
Try boosting the voltage on it.

I can't, setting the memory multiplier at it's max will only get me 1333MHz and even then it still hangs. That's why I think it's a motherboard issue. Even when evrything is on stock or slightly underclocked settings it still hangs.

Do you know if your CMOS battery is good?
I've had a few boards hang because of a bad battery.

If you can get into the BIOS, they are supposed to be 3V so when you go into your BIOS look under PC Health & Status, then look at the VBAT to see if it's running @ 3volts/3v
If it's not, and say, running @ 2.9v you might need to replace it.
