Is my sig rig ok for video editing in Premier you think? I wanna try and switch over to Premier from FCP since my rig is more powerful than this old iMac. You think I would run into any bottlenecks or what?

No... Youre good. There are some programs that use your GPU for editing. I can'; remember it but I will post it later. The only problem might be youre Core 2. Overclock it just a tad and you will be fine.

I've got it stable at 3.8ghz so I should be fine?
Now, to get a second monitor so I can spread out and learn this program lols. I'm so used to Final Cut Pro on the iMac, but my boss refuses to upgrade my work rig and I've got no cash to spend on a Mac Pro or iMac, so figured I'd try and do everything on my PC.

Badaboom and Power Director 7 use the gpu to render and can sometimes cut the time in half.

I'm surprised at how similiar Premier and FCP look. Shouldn't be to hard figuring out the interface now should it? I really need to get some externals for my scratch disks now. I've got ~11 externals on the iMac that are in use for FCP lol.

I just don't like how you can't move areas of Premier out like you can in FCP. Each is it's own window so you can arrange em however you want.

I used my sig to edit in vegas and although it wasn't snappy, it was tolerable. Your system is a lot better than mine so you'll be fine.
Also if you want to use your GPU with CS4 I'm pretty sure you need a quadro. http://www.nvidia.com/object/builtforadobepros.html

Premier is virtually FCP for windows - made by adobe.....
To rearrange the windows i thought you could drag them.....if not - up the top in the windows menu will give you different layouts - i like 2 up personally (thats in FCP - not sure in Premier - i just set it and left it) System should be great for it
