Default i7 920OC to 4.0Ghz Gaming Rig suggestions?

Okay I've finally decided that my desktop is passed the "decent" stage and is now in the "Below Average" for my gaming desktop. I really figured this out when I installed Sims 3 and it ran just fine and then crashed every 30 sec. Tried my laptop... it works fine just REALLY slow on Mobile NVidia Graphics card. Strangely enough the HTPC with my ATOM board runs it perfectly with no crashes. Yeah, I know... that says a lot.

So, here's my rules for my new Gaming Rig. $4k is the spending limit. It's going to last 5 years (whether I like it or not). Expansion needs to be available. Overclocking is the $hit and must be done! With Overclocking comes watercooling!

So here's the list I came up with:

ASUS Rampage II Extreme (For supreme Overclocking)
Intel Core i7 I7-920 Quad Core (Going to Overclock it to 4.0Ghz)
Corsair Domincator 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (This might be better at 6 not sure)
EVGA 896-P3-1170-AR GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0(plus a water cooling kit - OC'd of course)
or
EVGA 017-P3-1297-AR CO-OP Hydro Copper GeForce GTX 295 1792MB 896 (448 x 2)-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0
or
BFG NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 H2O 1792MB PCIe 2.0 with ThermoIntelligence Water Cooling Solution (ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO BUY THIS??)
On-Board Audio (SupremeFX features Creative Labs' X-FI technology and provides 7.1 sound)
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit SP1 (I might scrimp here and just get Windows 7)
Thermaltake VH600LBWS (I'll buy the LG1366 block as this is made for the Socket775)
Thermaltake TR2 W0176RU 1000W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91
or
CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91
Tuniq Ripper PSU-RIP1000W-BK 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified
Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB 10000 RPM SATA
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM

Additional Components
Logitech X-540 70 watts 5.1 Speaker - Retail
Logitech MX518 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB or PS/2 Wired Optical 1800 dpi Gaming-Grade Mouse
or
Logitech G9 Black 5 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB Wired Laser Gaming Mouse - Retail
Logitech G11 Silver & Black 104 Normal Keys
or
Logitech G15 USB Wired Standard Gaming Keyboard - Retail
Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ Black 22"" 5ms 3D Gaming 120 Hz Widescreen LCD Monitor
NVidia GeForce 3D Vision (Overkill I know but this Gaming rig is so much cooler in 3D!
LG Black Super Multi Blu-ray Disc Burner & HD DVD-ROM Drive SATA Model GGW-H20L - Retail

Yeah if I go with my original specs (with the 295 H20) it comes to about $3750. The things I've really been flip flopping on are the Video card, Power Supply, and Hard Drives. I have my HP EX485 Server with 3.25TB on it so I don't really need a lot of storage on the box other than for games. Maybe I'll just go 300GB Velociraptor like I originally had in the $3750 version.

3x 4890's in TriFire would be crazy for heat/power consumption but the gains might be more than just a watercooled 295. I'd love to see it go at it though.

You like the EVGA Classified better then the Rampage?

I haven't used the Rampage personally, but I LOVE my classified.
As for the HDD's do not get Velociraptors, get 2 Seagate 700.12 500gb drives, they will perform faster and have more storage for half the price. I would skip the Caviar blacks for storage since you got lots of other space. Just get 2 OCZ vertex 30gb or 60gb drives in RAID.

As for PSU, Corsair is an AWESOME company.

For the video card, 2 4890s would beat out a GTX295 in gaming. If you want a single card, then teh GTX295 is the king, but I think for the money, get 2 4890s in Crossfire then.

On a single card vs card basis, the GTX 295 is all you need. But, I'd highly suggest going SLI with 2 GTX 295's over the 4890 CF setup if you can spend the cash.

The cost would be higher, no question about it there. But the raw power put out by the 295's is incredible. I'm trying to dig up some comparison charts, gimme a minute or so...

That's as close as I can get. I don't think I really need two 295's in SLI. I think one (which is already 2 GPU's) will suffice. Then later down the road a little more tubing and another card and I'd be good to go.

One other question. with the water cooling setup would it be better to have two loops (one for the 295 and one for the CPU) or just one continuous loop CPU to VID ? I'm guessing two loops will be better for cooling but more chance for leaks. Anyone actually HAVE a Thermaltake VH600LBWS? How good is it?

This comes out to ~$2700. Leaves you extra for water cooling, a case, a sound card, and a mouse .

No need to waste money if you are only gaming.

PFFFFTTTT!!!! ONLY gaming?? Is there anything else?? lol

Nah, there's a lot of things the rig will be used for...

Video Encoding
AutoCAD - If I can find one that's compatible with Win7
Gaming

I'm probably going to dual rip all my DVDs with this rig as well. Ripping 2 DVDs at the same time needs a LOT of resources.
