I heard AssCreed is quite interesting ?

Goodluck with your new stuff, looks like a good early chrismas for you
Assassin's Creed was great until you get about 1/3 through the game. As then the game becomes repetitive and boring. Just my opinion though.

@OP;
Looks like a great build, I'll be watching. For now, enjoy your nap

Nice taste in Hard Drives.

Should be a decent upgrade.

If you're into RTS/RPG, definitely try Dawn of War II, it's nothing like its predecessor and if you're at all familiar with the WH40K world it's great fun to play through the campaign. (Although it has little to no replay value) I played through the campaign once on my own, and once co-op with a friend. Maybe wait till Steam has it on offer.

Assassin's Creed I actually bought for PC when released, ended up playing it on my PS3 since my new pc was nowhere to be found at the time. I really enjoyed it at first, it's a very slick/pretty game, but as others have said, it gets horribly repetative, and I got bored about 2/3rds in, and abandoned it. I'll be trying the PC version at some point, probably shortly before AC2 is released.

If you haven't played it. World in Conflict is a spectacular RTS, (the spiritual sequel to Ground Control 2, my all-time fave RTS). I can highly recommend it.

Demigod is fast paced action/tactics, elements of RTS, but only any good if you intend to play online. There's no single player campaign to speak of, only AI skirmishes.

Again on the strategy front, if you've not played the Total War series, I suggest trying Rome: Total War, IMO still the best. I've spent many months on single campaigns in the last few years, one of the reasons I've been able to survive on my old rig till now.

It's not entirely (or remotely ) coincidental the two happened at the same time.. she knew I'd be in a gaming frenzy whenever I got it, and is hoping it'll be slightly out of my system when she gets back so I don't ignore her till 2010

l4n b0y's sig rig *is* his parts on the way, and as for waiting 5 years, I made some rash/foolish financial decisions in my youth, and they still haunt me. It's only now theres a slew of games I can't play/run well, that I've justified (with wifely approval ) a new build.

Also very much looking forwards to Dragon Age: Origins, MW2, Borderlands, Alan Wake and the new AvP....

Thanks all for the kind comments, I'll try and have it up and running w/ pics inside the next 24hrs
