Actually scrap that, It's not the hard drive because It just froze on me again with a different hard drive in it.
So now It freezes even when i have changed the Gpu and the Hdd. So it must be the Cpu. I have primed the Cpu and it froze about 4-5 mins into the test. I'm not sure if it's my Psu though, I only have a 400W and it doesn't have enough connections for the mobo or the Gpu so i cant change that. I'm tempted to chuck it out the window, but that wouldn't solve anything and i would have wasted alot of cash.

Do you have the intel equivilant of AMD's Cool 'n' Quiet on? it drops the voltage and multiplier when the CPU isn't running at max so it uses less power and makes less heat...Cause the CPUz screen showed 1.5Ghz i think

Cause my motherboard and CPU both support cool 'n' quiet but i've never got it to work properly, Freezing and it getting stuck at like 800mhz, so i disabled it and overclocked
so i would say, if you checked everything else in your computer, go into your BIOS and see if you can disable intel speedstep. If the problem still persists, strip your computer from everything accept what the bare minimum to run, meaning no videocard, 1 DIMM , 1 HDD, no DVD drive, 1 motherboard (lol) and see if the problem still persists, if it does then iunno i had many unexplainable problems when i was using XP 32 bit, like random display driver crashes, even XFX didn't know what was wrong....try vista 64, maybe windows 7 is the problem. good luck...

After disabling that thingy (forgot what it's called on intel) It seems to be working fine, I do hope this is the case. I'm just scared to run prime because I'm sick of it freezing on me and me taking everything apart and trying to find the culprit. But i was just able to play Anno 1404 on full settings for 30 mins.

For future purposes I would get a better PSU.
400 Watts for a Core i7 and a GTX 275 is really pushing it.

But all well that ends well right!
