Default Is Q9650 @ $320 a good price?

I'm starting to feel like my computer is getting old when its still doing well. I do plan to start video encoding and editing but how much of an improvement would I see from my e6750 @ 3.8ghz to the q9650 (hopefully @ 4.0ghz). Btw I only do minor gaming so I don't really plan on upgrading my GFX anytime soon. Don't want to go the i3/5/7/9 route since I don't want a whole system overhaul.

not worth if it you asked me; you can get a q9400 for under $200 in some places, and a 9550 for a little more
they reach 4ghz as well

320 bucks is alot for a socket 775 CPU now, I would honestly get a q9550 instead and get more ram. Micro center has q9550's for 170 bucks, but even getting them from newegg you would be ok. Unless the little amount the 9650 will OC over the 9550 is worth it to ya, then do it..regardless it will be a noticeable difference over the 6750..specially when you start using up all 4 cores.

With not to much of a problem that is; If you can spare the 300$ then just save and wait till the i9 or buy a i7 rig

If 4 ghz is the minimum any Q9550 can achieve, why may I ask do you run yours at 3.7ghz?
