Stable pass of linX= 20 minutes

Stable pass of Prime95= 8 to 12 hours

You still want to try P95?

I usually do 1 hour or so... I set to MAX MEM and 20 passes, takes about 1 hour, that will prove ultimate stability. If you can pass that, your PC won't crash for sure lol.

LinX is IBT, but with a better GUI and better features.

Prime95 is the best right now because it comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors for Windows. Plus it's available for 32-bit Linux, and 64-bit Linux. Not only that, but it's available for MAC OS, but I refuse to link it. hehe

Anyway the prime tests in Prime95 are the exact same "OCCT: CPU" stress tests. "Small Data Set" is the same prime test as Prime95's "Small FFTs" test. "Medium Data Set" is the same as "Blend", and "Large Data Set" is the same as "Large, in-place FFTs".

So, there's no need for IBT or OCCT when these better options are available. Plus, Prime95 takes about .001 seconds to open as compared to OCCT's 5-15 seconds (depending on the platform and system).

And finally, I can't forget Memtest.

But you can't rely just on LinX or Prime95. They're different from one another; one is not better than the other.

Best answer is multiple tests. I like to use LinX on All Memory for quick testing and finding my max overclock. If you can run 20 runs of LinX on All Memory, then ussually it's pretty stable. I then go to 12hrs of Prime95 Small FTTs. That is ussually good, but if you really want to prove stability, then 12hrs of Prime95 Large FTTs will stress your NB and ram.

No one test is the best as they all test differently.

I heard that its stable in LinX for some people but then when they test in Prime95 its not.

interesting, then how would one determine his setup is "all good" from using either LinX and/or Prime95 if you say like that?
