Ok my sig rig is starting to annoy me.
2 days ago, i was overclocked at 3.2ghz 100% stable with i think 1.3v vcore. Was playing L4D with some friends and bam BSOD. When i rebooted i reset my bios to 100% default settings. I checked gpu temps and they were around 95 celcius, even though my 4870 fan is on at 30-40%, never below 30%. So i had rebooted, and it BSODs again. I reboot, fine and i play l4d for a bit more. Then it bsods again. It then reboots and i play some more with 40% fan speed but then i go to bed so turn it off. Next day, get back from school with a friend. Turn it on, fine, but then it BSODs. Reboot, gets to windows desktop and BSODs. Reboot gets to 'do you want to boot windows or check windows for errors', select windows it BSODs. Go back and select check windows for errors, BSOD. Reboot, now getting a post code error 'F0' or '0F'. Never gets past this. No display output. So i opened it up and changed the RAM for some other ram. Still F0, even after clearing the BIOS. Reseated the GPU, still nothing, took out my PCI wireless card, still nothing. Checked all power connectors. Then i took the other ram out (crucial ballistix tracers) and put 2 of my dominators back in, and it worked! Then i put in the other 2 and it didn't work any more. I then managed to identify a stick of dominator that i THOUGHT was causing issues, and it was booting fine with the others. I put in the dodgy one thinking it wouldn't boot, but it did. So that properly confused me. So i put the pc back together and it was fine. I was playing l4d last night, and another BSOD happened. So i am incredibly confused. What the hell is wrong with it? My bios errors have been a mixture of F0/0F and 13/E1

Run memtest86+ on your ram and run one stick at a time and boot with one in.

Do you remember the BSOD error(s)? If you keep getting the same error message then it probably isn't RAM related. If your RAM is failing then the BSOD error should be different just about every time.
Where did the crucial ballistix come from? Is that RAM known to be good(I.E. did the sticks come from another working machine)?

Please post what the BSOD says. If possible turn off automatic restart and take a picture

I remember getting random BSOD's a few months back. It took me a few days to figure it out. It was because I was messing with installing OS X on my PC. At some point it was required to set configure SATA as AHCI. I didn't set it back to IDE, when I was done with OS X. For some reason Windows 7 didn't like the AHCI thing.. It BSOD's every few hours. After I set it back to IDE, everything was fine again. I'm not sure why..
This is perhaps not your problem, since you reset your BIOS to default. But it couldn't hurt to mention it. Good luck with it. ![]() EDIT: It defenitely sounds like a hardware problem (graphics, CPU, motherboard..?). BUT.. Have you perhaps tried to put in another harddrive, and install a fresh Windows? Just to rule out screwed-up Windows files on your default drive?

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I put in a Q9550 in my rig and have had that running fine. It hasn't bsod'd so far, but i don't think there was a problem with my E8200. I stress tested for 8 hours and it was good with the q9550 at 3.4ghz so i think these problems have been solved.
If the problems come back i will take this advice into account!
