Default Upgrade 2006 Server's Processor.

I have a Pentium D 3.0 GHz server from 2006. Is it worth spending extra 120 dollars to upgrade the processor to an E6600 Xeon?

I am planning to make this server into a Domain Controller and run Terminal Server in a VM.

This is a Visionman Server with a Gigabyte Motherboard.

It will be worth the upgrade if you're currently receiving a lot of traffic or predict a high mass of traffic.
If the CPU usage is less than 30% then the upgrade will be pointless imo.

Derek, thank you for your reply.

I also changed my mind. I am not going to be running TS on the VM.

However, its going to be actually running exchange server and active directory. Exchange Server is going to be running in a Virtual Machine since I can't install it on one box.

The Server is also going to be a file server and I am going to be accessing very large DV Files over the Gigabit LAN, while its a domain controller. I understand I should be having many servers for different roles, but I am trying to consolidate everything on one and then get my other machine to run Terminal Server, to seperate the workload my main server has to do. It is also going to be a Web Server as well.

I am not sure weather I need to upgrade or can live with the Pentium D 3.0 Processor for all these services its going to be running, but based on what I explained, should I get a E6600 Processor?
