Default A year old... still strong?

My computer in my sig is a year old. I am most likely going to buy a new tv that is 1080p instead of 720. My graphics card is probably going to need to be replaced right? If so what do you guys suggest? Do I need to worry about any of my other parts? It has been a year since I did my researching and I am getting a little rusty, so I thought I would ask. Thanks.

I'm also getting Windows 7 in a few weeks if that changes anything.... (hopefully for the better)

No.

Your 9800GX2 is fine, unless you want to max out Crysis (buy a 5870, or wait to see how the GT300 performs).

Get yourself a radeon 5850 or 5870 if you're a serious gamer, otherwise a 48xx or similar nvidia card (don't know too much about them) will do

Everything else looks great

Why would your graphics card need replaced? Even if you're gaming on that new 1080p monitor, that 9800GX2 should handle it easily. If you WANT to upgrade, then yeah a graphics card would be just about the only thing your rig is lacking.....and your current one isn't bad at all.

I'd sell the gx2 to a folder and pick up a 5870.

is it necessary to upgrade? no, not for at least another year and a half imo, but if you wanted to you can, as there are other possibilities out there, but the 9800gx2 will do you fine.

Dude my GS can push 1080P if you overclock it until it forgets it's name.

Your GX2 will be fine.

Nope no need for new guts yet, though you could upgrade to whatever GPU config you desire + run an armada of HDDs with that PSU
