Still bottom line is a i5 isn't going to be much of a upgrade. Its like upgrading from you 9800gtx+ to a 250gts.

no its not. core i5 is on LGA1156 which will live on while LGA775 will die off in like half a year.

Yeah but it will have almost the same performance. Thats why a i7 would be a noticeable upgrade.

That does not make getting an i5 worth it, +/- 5% is not worth getting DDR3, new mobo, and new CPU.

Yes LGA1156 will live on but that does not matter because he already has a LGA775 based system that is as good as a current LGA1156 based system.

I did google it, and had a hard time finding evidence. But it's true the NF200 chipset allows tri SLI at x16 bandwidth.
