im still on stock cooling so i guess it just kinda differs system to system, grap HWmonitor and note all of your temps at idle and under load, raise your FSB in very small increments then bring back HWmonitor and again note your idle and load temps, i was told for a universal temp not to pass was about 85C or 185F. let us know if you have any more questions

looks like PCWIZMTL is correct (+1) that you need clockgen according to this thread, snatch it up and let us know!

oh yea, and for stress testing and stability comfirmation i would recomend intelburn it tells you if your stable within 20 mins compared to OCCT which takes about 6 hours or more...

thnak you guys for ya cont. support...
one chip on my mobo says "ICS 6600594 0620 951417AFLF". so i suppose PLL shud b "ICS 951417AFLF". notin like that in clockgen (1.0.5.3) so trialNerror i found "ICS 954148" displays correct freq. for all cpu, fsb, ram, pcie, pci as 3400.04, 200.01, 200.01, 400.01, 33.33. well i dint try applying, but moving d slider increases pcie n pci freq. also. is it ok?
y i ask is coz i also tried SetFSB (2.2.1.30.96) which automatically selected clock as "ICS 951417AFLF" (!!). but it is showin fsb/ddr/pcie/pci freq. as 133.3/266.7/99.7/33.3, and have 2 sliders, one increases fsb n ddr n the other pcie.
just wanted to b sure b4 i start ....

from what i have been told, there is no point in increasing pci/pci-e freq there isnt enough performance gained to make the heat and lowering the life worth it. just start raising the fsb/ddr slider 10-15 mhz at a time, have hwmonitor running in the backround and intel burn open in the back round after you apply a new clock setting run intel burn to make sure your still stable and the chip isnt getting to hot. good luck, let us know!

clockgen is not workin for me.. pc freezes when i perss apply button even if i dint change anything! i tried 4 clocks, ics950405, ics 954119, ics954123 n ics954148 no luck in either of them.
so i tried setfsb. it supports my clock ics951417AFLF but the freq.s shown are all messed up as i said in mt prev. post. according to me clockgen values r correct. still lil confused
anyway i finally decided to use setfsb, it works!! i raised cpu to 3.8GHz (steps of 5MHz fsb) and played nfs:undercover for more than 1hr (sorry i cudn't stop)!!! big improvement.
i'l do the stability test and monitoring n will post temps n other values (for 3.8GHz) tomorrow. thank you TeenAgeReneGade2316 and PCWIZMTL.

no prob, however i cannot express how important it is that you monitor your temps and check for stability directly after OC'ing, last thing you want is to OC and get into a game then have your comp die and never turn back on because you fried the chip due to too high of an OC. id hate to see you kill your computer due to negligence when it can be avoided....(btw, the REP+ button is a great way to show graditude )

yup... i perfectly understand the seriousness... i've done the intel burn test on standard settings (1GB RAM, 5 Iterations) and it passed. the readings are below:
Hardware Monitor:
BURN IDLE
MIN MAX MIN MAX
CPU VCORE 1.19 1.24 1.19 1.24
ATX +3.3v 3.32 3.33 3.32 3.33
ATX +5v 5.10 5.10 5.10 5.10
ATX +12v 12.24 12.30 12.24 12.30
(all values are in Celcius)
Diode 1 40 45 40 40
Internal 42 46 42 42
Diode 2 50 72 50 54
Fan (CPU) 1277 2673 1277 1496
ACPI THRM 40 40 40 40
GPU CORE 53 54 52 53
HDD1 36 37 36 36
HDD2 37 37 36 37

clockgen (using "ICS 954148"):
CPU FSB RAM PCIE PCI
stock 3400.01 200.01 200.01 133 33.33
OC 3810.82 224.16 224.16 448.34 37.36

the diode 2 thing seems to be a problem to me... comments??
n i'm sorry for the delay, was busy with my office stuff...

the diodes, if im not mistaken should be core 1 and 2, that being said the diff in my core temps is outrageous! load on core 1 is 55C meanwhile core 2 loads at 35C, more or less the same diff on idle as well. so as long as your not hitting above around 80-85ish you should be ok. congrats on stability btw +1

umm quite honestly it depends on several different things, like cooling for one. i have the stock intel HS and cpu fan but i also have 2 tornado 92mm fans and 2 120mm fans intaking air into my case. it also depends on mobo chipset i dont know what you have but my mobo limits my OC at 4 ghz i could have taken it alot higher if my chipset would allow it, so basically it just depends on several various things.
