100% zero syncing issues for me on my i5 System that I built just a few weeks ago on an $800 budget.

Everything in my signature, except for the 32" Samsung I purchased from NewEgg just a few weeks ago and the total was around $770, so you can add on to it and make it even better.

I'm very pleased with it.

Edit: If it's moved up to a $1000 budget, then I think you could go the i7 route, but I am extremely pleased with my system.

If I had a $1000 budget, I would have went with better RAM, a Gigabyte 1156 board, and possibly a 5770 or something like that.

Yeah, I was going to go with a better MSI board, but the CD-53 that I picked out is very amazing, especially for a budget board. I'm more happy with it than I was with my 780i.

And if i5 is overkill, then an i5 system is perfect. I love mine, and I've had an E8400 system at 4GHz, a Q9550 system at 4Ghz, and I'm more pleased with my i5 and I only have it at 3.2Ghz right now until I can get away from the stock cooler.

I would have liked to go with a newer Radeon card, but I'm happy with everything I got, and if the budget is raised then that's more leverage in my opinion.

BIG TIP: Tell your friend to wait until Black Friday. You can pick up a fantastic case, and hard drive, and probably all kinds of other deals from NewEgg during Black Friday deals. That's what I'm waiting on to upgrade some more.

Last year, I got my Antec 900 from there for I think $60, and it was a fantastic deal.

Sorry, I picked them at the time because of those fantastic combo deals. Mostly just to prove that you can get an i7 system or an AMD quad setup under his budget. Newegg runs those kinds of deals all the time, if your willing to leave your brand loyalties behind((and i do not mean quality) you can build a very high end system for under a grand.

we have decided to maybe go Am3 route to save a bit a money and get close ot same performance. It depends on how much of a performance dip he will get. if he got am3 system he would want me to overclock it to 3.8 to 4.0 for him so.
