Default Friend build. Core i5. $800 budget

He needs a computer to run source games off steam and powerful enough to run all the stalker games. I was thinking a core i5, gigabyte UD4P motherboard, and a Sapphire HD4870 1GB or GTX275 or 260 and a OCZ 600 or 750w power supply. I think he also will be playing on a 24" monitor. Give out your suggestions and we will look into it. thanks

Avoid OCZ PSU's if possible, it's not out of the question to go corsair.

i was thinking a MODXStream 700w PSU, UD4P motherboard, and OCZ DDR3 memory. He said he wanted an nvidia card but i may get him a sapphire HD4870 or 5850.

Ive used OCZ in the past and they've all been rock solid. I tested a Gamexstream 700W and 850W recently. ID say avoid the 850W, its made exactly the same as the 700W just a bit more powerful, Its not built to handle 850W. The one I was testing blew a cap and was just awful. Other than that, the 700 remained rock solid, and ive tested the Z Series 1000W and ModXstream 700W and theyve been rock solid.

Hey, this is the friend who wanted the computer. I think that I could raise the budget to $1000. I'm very grateful that your all helping me build this thing. Hope it gets done before X Mas... All the builds look great to me, just throw a Win 7 in there and it's perfect!

-DJ

p.s. I added you to my friends list Mocha.
