Hello all,
First of I want to thank user Albatross1991 for helping me out. Guiding me in a good direction, which gave me better results so far, but I'm not there yet and I would like to hear other peoples oppinions on this too. I'm trying to get my system stable at 3.2Ghz with 4GB's of Corsair Dominator CMD4GX3M2A1600C8 RAM. Rated memory settings: DDR type: DDR3 Speed: 1600Mhz Timings: 8-8-8-24-88-2T Voltage: 1.650v Voltages in BIOS (Latest available Beta version, last official release was over a year ago): CPU Voltage: 1.2750v Memory Voltage: 1.650v (XMP) FSB Terminator: Auto NB Voltage: 1.5v SB Core / CPU PLL Voltage: Auto CPU GTL Reference Voltage 1: Auto CPU GTL Reference Voltage 2: Auto MCH GTL Reference Voltage: Auto DDR CHA Reference Voltage: Auto DDR CHB Reference Voltage: Auto MCH DDR Reference Voltage: Auto Temps load: CPU: 60-65 Memory: 50? Not sure North-Bridge: 70-75 HDD: 30 Motherboard: 40 Temps idle: CPU: 40 Memory: 30? Not sure North-Bridge: 66 HDD: 30 Motherboard: 38 I can get into Windows 7 with hardly any problems. When I run Prime95 3/4 Cores pass 1024k Blend's until I stop the test since 1/4 Cores failed. Running 4 instances of MemTest each testing 775mb of memory reaches around 150% coverage until first instance gives an error. Programs running during the tests are CPU-Z, Task Manager, SpeedFan, Comodo Internet Security and of course some background programs like Creative Console Launcher and ATi Catalyst Control Center. Any suggestions? Thanks so far, t1n5l3y.

*Bump* Not trying to act more important then other problems posted here, but I rewritten my opening post since the older one was rubbish and didn't make much sense. So I hope this will work out better.

Ok here a small update,
Best results I can get with Prime95 running Blend's is passing 1024k, 8k, 10k and a few 896k tests before 1 of the cores gives an error. These are the settings I tested with: Memory settings in BIOS: 1600Mhz tCL - 9 tRCD - 9 tRP - 9 tRAS - 24 tRFC - 88 tWR - 12 tWTR - 6 tRRD - 6 tRTP - 6 CR - 2N Voltages: CPU Voltage: 1.3v Memory Voltage: 1.75 (rated at 1.65v) FSB Terminator: Auto NB Voltage: 1.5v SB Core / CPU PLL Voltage: Auto CPU GTL Reference Voltage 1: Auto CPU GTL Reference Voltage 2: Auto MCH GTL Reference Voltage: Auto DDR CHA Reference Voltage: Auto DDR CHB Reference Voltage: Auto MCH DDR Reference Voltage: Auto Any recommendations on what I could change to pass Prime95 and reach stability on the RAM? I gues my CPU is stable so far, since it has been running 3.2Ghz before with DDR2-800Mhz ram. t1n5l3y.

I don't know 775 platform, but wishing you luck is more helpful than the last post...

(Since quote was edited by someone, my reply does not apply to previous one by FtW 420)
Because I spend around 1.400 euro's on this setup without peripherals in June 2008. And I do not feel the need of selling this for 600-800 euros and get an AMD system for that money. I was looking forward to atleast use this setup to 2011 or 2012, before buying a new system if I would still be interested in computers by that time. Thank you for this insightfull reply...??? t1n5l3y.

Major improvement made.
An error accured at test 9 of 640k Blend's 2 hours and 1 min in the test, 54 mins was the last time it lasted. CPU Settings: Frequency - 3200Mhz FSB - 400Mhz Divider - 1:2 Memory settings: 1600Mhz tCL - 8 tRCD - 8 tRP - 8 tRAS - 24 tRFC - 88 tWR - 12 tWTR - 6 tRRD - 6 tRTP - 6 tRD - 8 CR - 2 Voltage: CPU Voltage: 1.3v Memory Voltage: 1.79v FSB Terminator: 1.3v NB Voltage: 1.5v SB Core / CPU PLL Voltage: Auto CPU GTL Reference Voltage 1: Auto CPU GTL Reference Voltage 2: Auto MCH GTL Reference Voltage: Auto DDR CHA Reference Voltage: Auto DDR CHB Reference Voltage: Auto MCH DDR Reference Voltage: Auto Is there anything I can do with the Reference Voltages? Temps are getting pretty high on the North Bridge, its getting roughly between 65-75 Degrees Celius during the tests. I don't know if my temps are the real problem, since my gues is, is that the test should have failed earlier on if it where a problem. t1n5l3y.

Overclocker

As I said before, your RAM is failing Memtest. It is linked to your FSB
so it is probably overclocked to some extent. Until you deal with your memory issues you will never stablize. I would revert to stock memory timings and factory specified voltage and underclock RAM to 1333. (As you raise your FSB the RAM speed will increase, too). Reccomend Memtest for 8 hours or so. If Memtest passes then you can start priming. http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...ed-guides.html

I reverted to stock settings and here is the result of little over 8 hours of MemTest:
![]() Temps in MemTest are decent, but in Prime95 they tend to go to high, I can get that fixed though. Going to clean out my pc and rebuild it again, but wil removing the heatsink from my motherboard covering the few important areas and applying thermal paste there, same as on the cpu, be a good idea?
