one 5850 a case +cpu +psu +hi perf cpu cooler and 2 hard drives already meets your budget. but thats all you need anyway. Im only seeing a max of 330W as is. OC your cpu and add another 5850 in the future only adds 210W which would max out an 80% effective 650W psu so IMO* Id feel safe with a exceptional brand 750W myself. but would say an 850W corsair or ocz would be safest.

But you left out the ram and dvd drive! Yea, that's what I had initially thought. 750 should be enough for my set-up, since I probably won't be upgrading anytime soon. Still wondering if I should hold out for the i7 930. That might be a ways away, though.

You won't regret the EVGA X-58 759. I owned one and sold it for the 760 and the 759 overclocked better. That 759 is rock solid and hands down the best out and if anyone tells you different they have never owned one! I've used nothing but Asus for years, I have the Rampage 2 Extreme W/ 920(b batch) and it's a solid rig but my EVGA 760 W/Xeon W3540 tears it up. The EVGA is running @ 4.35g stable, vcore 1.39v W/ 3 BFG 285's and GTX 9800 for physics. I've tried both cpu's in both rigs and the 760 wins everytime! I can actually get the Xeon to post @ 4.7g but fails prime 95 right away. If you don't have another X-58 mobo to compare it to you will never know how good it is so I will tell you it is hands down the best decision I think you've made. If you haven't bought a power supply yet Zion has a 1000 watter for sale on Tiger Direct now for $100 and don't let the price fool you it is a solid psu!!! All the other big names need to start selling there's cheaper. I have one in the Asus rig W/ 2 BFG 295's and it has no problems and I've had it going for almost 2 months.

Yea, but I do plan to overclock, and if indeed the 930 will be 32 nm, which, yea, might be unlikely, would be better for that purpose. Still hoping that anyone near a Micro Center that has the B batch in stock can help me get one or two. Anyone? Well, if I were to completely ignore the 930, I would still want a little more input on 920 vs. Xeon W5420. I guess I'll just wait until there is either news of a B batch selection or news on the die size for 930.

Thanks! I really needed some reassurance. If you yourself want one, not that have the money to spend on it, there are still a few left where I bought it. Look in the Intel Motherboard thread, if you haven't already. Back on topic, I'll look into the PSU. That's a nice set-up you have there. Those are some nice parts. Any more suggestions are welcome!!

Doesn't corsair have a new 950w psu?

Try going for that.

I'll look into it, thanks. There are very few reviews of the Xion 1000W PSU, except for the 127 comments left on TigerDirect from customers, so I'm still a bit unsure. I would assume the customers would be somewhat informed, though. But I think I'd like a true single-12V rail PSU more.

Would anyone recommend the Thermaltake SwordM VD5000BNA? It's MASSIVE, even compard to the Corsair Obsidian 800D. But the price is even better than an Antec 1200 right now. (Deal posted in Online Deals)

Bump. Anyone with any more suggestions for psu or case?? I have been recommended to look at Lian Lis, but I don't know which ones besides the expensive Vs.
