by getting more Mhz you mean the FSB correct?
What is the max youve gotten to without it not booting correctly?

Can you not boost the vcore any on that board?

If not, do a BSEL mod on the chip. That should get you at 2.4GHz, IIRC.

http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...mod-guide.html

My old board wouldn't let me boot vcore any, so the BSEL mod was my only way of getting a valid overclock.

I believe with the BSEL mod your FSB will become 1066, which is much higher than the point you're hitting right now.

Give it a try, it's very simple. You can get a "Circuit Writer" pen from Radioshack for less than $10, and then use electrical tape to tape off the pins you don't need to connect, then use the circuit writer pen to connect the pins from the thread above. Make sure you do the 800-1066 method.

With this method, your FSB will become 266 at stock, which is higher than the 220 you're hitting now. Also, this mod is very safe, and is easily removed by using rubbing alcohol to remove it from the chip. I've done it on an E2140, E2160, and E2180 with great results.

You most likely are hitting a "FSB Wall" which means you can't increase the FSB anymore, but with the BSEL mod, it tricks your motherboard into thinking it's running at a faster FSB speed at stock. It will become 266 in your BIOS, and you might be able to increase it slightly more. Make sure to increase the CPU vcore if you can, as that will increase stability, but I have ran all three chips I mentioned above at stock voltage or set to "Auto" since I could not change it on the old board I had these chips on.

The BSEL mod is 100% safe. There is no reason for it to harm your computer by any means. If you can't increase the vcore, then you are hitting a wall and will have to do the BSEL mod.
