SSD would help out a lot for boot times. I say go SSD

I don't want another 5870 with the 5900 series coming as well as fermi. I may upgrade to one of em if they are much better. Well on windows 7 right now it takes no more than 20 seconds fr windows screen to at desktop how fast would a SSD?

I say either go SSD or water, with water providing the "cool factor" (no pun intended) and the SSD being pure functionality.

watercooling setups don't have to cost a fortune. I built mine with two gpu blocks and a ddc pump for $150 total. I could have put in a cpu and gpu block instead, which is what you would do, but you would need a better radiator.

If I go for watercooling I want to do it right. No sense in going cheap and not being able to overclock more than I can on air. As for a htpc wouldn't be useful to me since my computer will always be by my tv. And besides
my tv is a pos tube with a fading tube in it

Are you sure its the stereo and not the onboard sound?

... just throwing that out there. All of my computers that have had onboard sound hissed... but adding sound cards fixed the problems.

It does it even when the Jack is unplugged. It's a cheap bookshelf speaker set so I'm guessing that is why. Well I guess not too cheap around 400 when I got
it
