Default Build help

This is my first time building and i don't plan on over-clocking atm was looking for help or suggestions for improvement on it, also i couldn't find much info on the case i picked , i don't want to buy anything until i get second opinion , also I'm trying to keep the total cost around the 1,000$ area , the OS is free because I'm a CS student so price isn't a factor there

Now is this a full build, including the monitor? Or do you already own that monitor? If you don't, then you could skimp a bit on some other items and still get the new ATI 5850, which is what I was aiming for with the build I posted. I think the Antec 900 would be a better case, though it's twice as expensive as the one you have in your sig. I think you should change your RAM choice, as there are better options on NewEgg that cost less and have similar timings.

I agree on the Antec Nine Hundred, I liked it so much I bought a second one and put my old computer in it (Which worked wonders on my slight overheating problem I had with the old one)

You can remove the operating system and have plenty of budget leftover for a good cpu cooler and a nice gpu

Nice build. I didn't think he'd need an i7, since he isn't going to overclock, and an i5 750 would be much easier to acquire. Nice find on the combo deals.

I do work
Why go i5 if you can go i7 for marginally more dollars
