Wow, this is weird. My girlfriend could max WoW @ 1650x1050 on an 8800GT and an E6750 (her old PC).

This I think.

The latest 191.xx are piss poor. Stick with 186's until they come out with better ones.

Ooops. That reminds me, I haven't updated it in a while. It's version 182.02. I figured WoW is pretty old, didn't matter what driver. Could this be a problem?

Hey guys,

Back when my brother was on a crappy internet connection, he struggled with FPS.

Now that we're on a good one, he's got 60+fps.

People think struggling with the game is due to hardware, but it could be internet connection. WOW forums had like 40 pages devoted to if internet connection can cause lower fps. Me? I don't believe that, but it's worth testing..

Actually, it just so happens that I switched from one internet connection to another one just yesterday. I started playing WoW a few days ago, so I played the game with two different internet connections. I even changed so far as to go from cable to DSL. I notice no difference in FPS, though, and I have an FPS meter installed on WoW and have been paying attention to it since I started playing so I'd know if there was any difference. My internet speed quadrupled with my new service, just not the FPS.
