Well, it's been about 6 months since I upgraded my sig rig and I'm catching the upgrade bug once again. I mainly use her for gaming but do a lot of graphics rendering as well. I'm not quite ready to do a full rebuild and will wait till next year before going i7 or i9. So what would be more cost effective at this point? A RAM upgrade or Video upgrade....Both are a bit dated and well stressed under gaming conditions. I'm currently playing Fallout 3 again at max settings, 1920x1080res, and about 3gigs worth of mods
As you could tell, I get a bit of stuttering here and there but not too bad. According to my gadget, RAM is close to max and although I don't have a monitor for my GPUs, I'm sure they are as well. Here is a bit more detail on the current hardware if you need it: motherboard: EVGA 750i SLI FTW CPU: E8400 (Overclocked to 3.6GHz) PSU: Thermaltake Black Widow TR2-RX850 RAM: (4gigs) Gskill PI seres DDR2-800 F2-6400CL4D 4GBPI GPUs in SLI: (1)EVGA GeForce 8800GT (1)BFG GeForce 8800GT Hard Drives: (1)232gig (1)160gig (1)80gig Monitors: (1) 23in Asus HD 1920x1080 (1) Acer 19in 1440x900 DVD: Pioneer DL burner OS: Windows 7 Pro OEM for System Builders Thanks for the help and recommendations!

Get some more RAM, 2 gigs more and that should sort it.

Gpu, definitely. You won't see much of an increase with extra RAM, as you already have four gigs worth.

I say GPU, not much need for over 4gigs of RAM at the moment.

Thanks for the fast replies. What Graphics card would be a good upgrade from my current sli setup for a reasonable price?

Only problem with a 5770 is i cant go dual down the road if i ever wanted too, due to the lack of crossfire support.

I also say GPU. If you can find a 58XX, I would say go that route since crossfire is not an option.

I expected you to say you had 256mb ram or something. Why would you want to upgrade from 4GB? New graphics card is the way to go!
