I recently upgraded from the 9800 GTX+ to the GTX 260 Core 216 55nm, and now I think I need to re-stabilize my overclock. I actually have been experiencing some really minor problems ever since the upgrade which certainly indicates that my system isn't stable. I tried adjusting each of my voltages up and down a little, but nothing makes any difference. The problems I'm experiencing are infrequent, but no matter what I do, they still happen. This is my first major upgrade too.
So, here's where I need to start: when upgrading the graphics card, is there a common tweak (or set of tweaks) that need to be done to the overclock to re-stabilize it? Or is this just like starting an overclock from scratch? I'd like to draw from your personal experiences to see if they can apply to me too. If the answer is that I just have to start from scratch again, then I'll certainly do that. But if there are certain tweaks that I should try, then I think I'd like to focus this thread on that and see what happens. That's pretty much it! Thank you for looking at my thread!

I've also had Crysis lock up on me (where the sound begins to repeat like a broken record, or a skipping CD). I also had a similar experience in Mirror's Edge. When I go to play a DVD movie using PowerDVD 8 Ultra (the only player I've ever liked out of all the ones available today), I sometimes don't get any picture. But I do if I reboot and start fresh like that. But that doesn't always work - it just usually works. I'm trying to think of what else it does, but I can't remember. So, maybe that's all it does. But still: even one problem to me means that it must be unstable - especially since it was problem-free before the upgrade. But, I guess I expected this with such a big upgrade (and yeah, I do love the GTX 260).

did you install the 191.07 drivers? if so that is probably your problem. I had that problem when I installed them. the worst part is that going back to older drivers will not fix it. Even reinstalling the OS has been known to not solve the problem.

I think what I might have to do is just re-stabilize it from scratch.

.Anyway good luck with the OC after I get the rest of my parts I am going to go for 4.0+ 24/7 using the guide you gave me in my thread a while ago when I was going from 3.0-3.4....man that seems like ages ago. Also congrats on the card its pretty nice and has a lot of OC ability. Mine is rock stable (though I have a pretty conservative OC for what this card can do.)

anyway, defiantly go back and re-work your OC, hopefully that will fix all your problems. :-) post back here with your solution when you find it, i am curious.

If you have an NF200 or Southbridge voltage try bumping that up as that was a factor in getting my OC stable with 2 GTX 260s. I occasionally get video corruption (tiny lines appear all over the screen like snow) when watching movies but I'm sure that that's a driver issue and nothing to do with my OC.
Why don't you change settings back to stock and see if that solves it. If not, it's a software problem.
