I'm thinking about upgrading to an i7 but my question is. Will they lower prices on RAM, motherboards, and i7 during black friday/thanksgiving?
__________________If so, I'm going to wait. I'm thinking of getting the: i7 920 from microcenter for $210 P6T Deluxe from ebay for $200 6GB G.Skill for $140 Megahalems for $60 _________________________ Total: $610 Sound good? Going to cram this in here: I'm selling my current parts to buy an upgrade. I'm only selling the CPU, motherboard, RAM, HSF, and a video card. I have one offer currently: Q6600 - $150 Evga 680i SLI A1 - $100 Zalman 9700 - $30 4x1GB DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 RAM - $120 _____________________________________ Total: $400 Should I go for that or could I sell it for more? Also, the person wants my 5770 also. I bought it for $165 but I see that they got more expensive and are somewhat harder to find ( Asus 5770 got deactivated on newegg for some reason ). How much do you think I could sell the 5770 for?

I would take the $400. That's a pretty solid return on that setup.

$400 for that setup is real nice man.
your i7 build looks really good too but i wouldn't get that motherboard. also, you could probably sell the 5770 for 170-180 and then find yourself a new one for cheap. |

Get the V2 of the P6T Deluxe (or its replacement, the P6TD Deluxe with the newer NB revision).

Which would you say would be the best i7 overclocking motherboard? Most important to me is quality. I was looking at: Foxconn Bloodrage Asus Rampage II Extreme EVGA E758 EVGA 141 now, Asus P6TD Deluxe Help me choose a board. I want one that can do both crossfire and sli.

They will all hit roughly the same BLCK.
__________________Any of them will do fine in that respect. Asus has a 3 year warranty that doesn't require registration (handy if you decide to sell it in a couple of years). The EVGA warranty cannot be transferred (and must be registered in order to extend it past one year). The Foxconn, although popular is no better than any of the others in terms of overclocking (and only 3 ram slots). The Asus P6TD Deluxe is identical to the P6T Deluxe V2 except it has a newer motherboard chipset revision (I'm planning on testing one out in the near future).
