Default $800-900 Build

Ok, I am building a system for my friend. I have complied the parts I am getting for him, case and soundcard not chosen yet, I don't think he needs a really good soundcard he's not like a hardcore gamer or listens to music a lot. Tell me how it is and if there should be any changes/suggestions/advice.

RAM link doesn't work.

I know this is in the Intel section and all, but he could get a Phenom II X4 940 for $2 cheaper than an e8400. Obviously you'd have to switch out the motherboard though to something like a 785g, which might also be cheaper than that P5Q.

I think you might be able to get faster system with AMD at this time for that cash flow.

Plus, choosing a LGA775 setup is sort of taking a step backwards.

Not saying there's anything wrong with that...

Yeah , that's for sure a quad or a dual for the same price , it's up to you(or your friend) to decide.

Coming from someone with the same CPU that you want to get , that means something

He only would like play some games occasionally, listen to music, and web browse. Does he need a quad, I mean I know it would be a better price for more performance though
