I currently have a Dell inspiron 530, and I think its time for an upgrade. I have already bought 1 more gb of ram and a gtx 260. I was wondering if I should get a new motherboard (EVGA 750i), and overclock my current e4500 to 3ghz, or should I just buy a new cpu (e8400). They're both the same speed, about the same price (e8400 $20 more expensive), but the e8400 has 6mb of cache and the e4500 has 2mb. I am leaning toward the "buy a new cpu" because I don't really want to overclock. This will be a cheap, temporary upgrade. Once I have some money to build a core i7 rig, I will

have you tried that bsel mod?
i think that was what it was called, by putting electrical tape on a pin or the software based cpufsb if neither, then i'd say go w/ a mobo since you can learn to OC, then get a better chip later on so why do u have i7 in ur sig rig anyway? it's an "i wish i have" rig? p.s. did u spell your home city wrong? san francisco?

i would get a cpu. The E8400 is a great cpu for now. Especially with the gfx card.
