your power supply should be stronger than mine, and my pc sucks up more power. well, right now i have a cheap 550watt coolermaster until monday when my new one comes. if all the connections are fine, then its a some sort of problem with the power supply or motherboard.

If it is a single short beep, it is a Boot success noise, so that is good. My bro's computer will do what I think your trying to explain. When you push the power button, it will turn everything on for a sec, like all the fans will start spinning 1 turn, then stop for 2 seconds then boot properly. He hasnt run into any problems and it's done that since he's had the board.
