Default New i7 Build, Tell Me What You Think

I'm still not sure if I am going to go thru with it and build an i7 (see here) BUT I can get the i7 920 at Microcenter for only $200, which is a huge plus.

Here is the list:

Shipping - $9
Total - $~1100 (+/-) a few dollars, as I rounded some of the prices)

A Few Notes:
  • Case - Im not thrilled with the HAF932 because I feel like it is going to louder than I want it to be, but it should fit the Megahalem with ease. I am also looking at the Antec 1200, but leaning towards the HAF932 because it comes highly recommened here on OCN, and it is onsale at Newegg. Any other case ideas?
  • GPUs - I will use my GTX260s in SLI to power my main monitor, and the 9500GT to power my 2nd and 3rd monitor, as well as run PhysX.
  • Mobo: I like this motherboard because it has 3 PCIx16 slots (x16, x16, x8), plenty of SATA connections, 6 DDR3 RAM slots, overclocking potential, and I have had good experience with Gigabyte boards. Also, has anyone had any experience overclocking this motherboard?
  • RAM - Someone on Newegg complained that he could not get the motherboard to properly recognize the RAM, so that makes me iffy if I want to get that RAM. Other RAM reccomendations?
  • PSU - The PSU will work with my setup, correct?

I would love to here your reccomendations, suggestions, etc. This will be my first intel build. If all goes according to plan, I would like to purchase this sometime Saturday evening (11/14) or Sunday afternoon (11/15) so I recieved everything by the latest on Friday, 11/20.

Thank you.

there is cheaper ram out there but i don't know much about ram.

that said, go to a microcenter and look at the HAF 932 and the antec 1200, and decide which you want. both are HUGE cases...

otherwise it looks like a good build

Why the EVGA x58 SLI? (this one right?) It doesnt seem that a Megahalem would fit as people say around the CPU is very cramped. What are the advantages of this board over the Gigabyte?

And can I have a link to the fan?

Thank you.

Thanks, I plan on going to Microcenter Saturday or Sunday to pick up the i7 920, so I will look at the cases there as well. But a Megahalem will fit in a antec 1200 right? I have heard from multiple people on here the Megahalem is HUGE and has trobule fitting in some cases.

+1

Megahalem should have no problem fitting in an antec 1200
