i am liking your new build, congrats! especially the 5870! i can't find one anywhere lol. if you get a chance, post up your wei rating. i am very curious what the ram and gpu get.

I've seen cases where people get better temps with it up and some the other way. Its only like 3C different regardless. I play on switching the TIM in about a week or two to TX-3 (got it today) after doing some more testing with the AS5. With the TIM switch i may also try switching the fan direction. We'll see

ha ha ha seriously this windows experience index is stupid. look at those scores everything should be at 7.9 with the exception of the hard drive i dont know why people pay so much attention to it. well you have a nice system i am jealous of that 5870 i want one too but i cant afford it just yet maybe later this year

It was a pain getting the thing ordered. I knew one was coming into newegg on the 17th and I kept hitting refresh every 5 minutes until it came in (did this for like an hour). I ordered it, and then it was out of stock again. Lucky timing, eh? The card's a beauty

thanks for posting the wei. i was interested in seeing what your memory and gpu score was going to be. i am upgrading my ram soon.

and i know you shouldn't base your pc's performance off of the wei, but since not everyone in the world uses the benchmarking programs, this is the closest thing to them that everyone has on their pc. i read that the only way to get a 7.9 on the hard drives is to run 4 ssd's in raid. how ridiculous does that sound? who has that kind of money to put into storage?

I'll tell you who! Not me considering I blew all my money on the rest of the build. And likely many other people would far rather spend the money on the other hardware as well. Microsoft rating fail. Agreed?

So i just worked a little with Error 404 with figuring out how the hell to OC this i7. I've now figured out how to do it and have been playing around with it a bit. I've gotten the clock up to 3.8 but failure to post. I've gotten it up to 3.6 and into windows but Prime95 failed to work and got BSoD or strange brown screen. 3.5 resulted in a Brown screen and 3.4 I have running completely stable and am going to let it run with prime all night. Right now I can confidently say I have a successful overclock of 3.4GHz.
