There was a fairly large problem with capacitors purchased by nearly all the Taiwanese manufacturers. Several employees stole what they believed to be the capacitor recipe and formed their own company selling capacitors. What they later found out was that they were missing a key ingredient in their capacitors. Anyways, these faulty capacitors were purchased by several of the larger motherboard manufacturers to save a buck (Asus included) and have had a lot of problems. There's an article on the net that discusses it further and has pics of what the caps look like as they age. They balloon up and explode. Anyways, I'll look for the article and edit this post if I can find it. (I've posted it before on Overclock.net, so I'll search here also)

Edit: This isn't the article I orginally read, but this one says that IBM and Abit are admitting using the cheap caps. (the other one I read said Asus had)

You'vr got bigger problems than a fried MObo my friend. Did you notice you are wearing gray socks and brown sandals in the 3rd pic?

Seriously though, I fried one last month. An Asus P5WD2-E Prem, except it was my fault on mine. Sorry to hear of the loss.

I'm sorry, but that is hilarious. Freak accidents do happen, you should be able to RMA it just fine. Normal overclocking doesn't cause that sort of damage, has to be a fault in the hardware.
