Default Voltage question for xbx2

I am looking at purchasing the XBX2 & trying to find the best RAM for it...
edit: d975xbx2 / badaxe2

in the 'qualified list' of memory it states
The board has four DIMM sockets and support the following memory features:
1.8 V and 1.9 V DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs

Lots of the memory that people are using on this board is over the 1.9 V.

is that going to be a problem?
Some memory is rated at 1.9 - 2.1 V. Would that work?

any input would be great. thanks.

If you plan on overclocking I'd choose something other than the BadAxe. I've heard that they are not great for overclocking.

A P5B-Deluxe or DS3 would be a better choice

well, reading up on the xbx2 it suites me perfect. and plenty of people have had great results with overclocking.

anyways... anyone have any input on the ram voltage?

i think youll be fine with whatever ram your using. Worst case scenario, if your comp doesnt boot then all you need to do is just boot to bios with a regular stick of ddr2. then once in bios, manually up the vdimm to whatever its rated at, save changes, shut down, replace ram with the good stuff and boot again.

From what ive read. if your using D9 chips with that boards you might have trouble booting seeing as D9s use a lot of voltage compared to the standard ram were all used to.

Firstly, the xbx2 oc's great. It a far superior MB when compared to the p5b.

Secondly, you can just pump the vdimm volts higher, I dont see the problem, I think it goes to 2.8v.

My ballistix boot ok at 1.84v, the normal volts after cmos clear.
