And what's so srong with 1.38 vcore?? I am at 1.475V or so with my E6600 at 3.4GHz. Do realize that you currently have a 0.74GHz overclock (or nearly 40%) on that chip, which is already quite a bit by any standard. Put some more volts through it and go for 3.0GHz (just keep an eye on temps, and do be careful )

BTW... the P180 is worth saving up for... but so is the 900.

simple...
More memory = less pagefile useage, and DDR is ALOT!! faster than pagefile, then with the reduced pagefile usage you have less disk reads/writes so it will reduce hard drive load, so then it can focus on the task better, then with that being reduced it also reduces processor useage. Result.. Better overall system performance.

Here's the 900 for $89.99 without any mail rebate hassle, expires today though.

I think you should test your ram before you assume it's the issue, and spend more money. It doesn't have to be a guessing game, just run memtest86+ on the ram for a few loops at least. That will tell you right there if your ram is walling on you. Or run a divider and/or loosen ram timings. Why guess and spend money, when you can know what's wrong so easily? Like these guys said, 2gb can be beneficial, and will be more so in the future. But ya, basic troubleshooting can tell you what's wrong here, no money required.
And your warranty expired? How can that possibly be? Even OEM conroe's are still under warranty. And your ram should have lifetime guarantee, unless Gskill does it different than every other major memory company? So when you say no warranty, you mean with who you ordered it from? If so, who cares, your stuff is still under warranty trust me. Unless you voided it somehow?

i got it from newegg but i slightly lapped it.
like the text isnt there anymore... think they will notice?lol. How do i set up this "divider". Im going to download memtest real quick and try that but i would like to try this divider as well. I was looking at the antec 900 and it looks pretty nice. But if im going to spend money on a case i would like for it to be uber smexy like the p180. Thanks everyone for your input +rep

Ah, some lapping, ya your warranty is toast lol. I'm a lapper myself, all my cpu's go straight to the copper after I've tested them a little. Now you know for next time though, test the cpu and it's OC capabilities before you lap it. I don't test mine for long, but long enough to make sure it's working good. I see how well it OC's, and if all's good, then I lap. I don't think your cpu is bad though personally, I would much more suspect ram or mobo and/or it's settings, as the problem.
But ya get memtest and check out that ram, it will tell you. If that can pass several loops, then it's running just fine at that speed/timings. I don't know your mobo or it's bios, but you should check out with some search funtion action. Make sure you have all your bios settings sorted out and correct, honestly I think that may be where the problem is. You have very capable hardware, I guess it could be a defective part. But I think you'll change a setting or voltage or something, and fix it. Good luck with it ![]()

thanks man , but i tried to download memtest and its being kinda gay... all its doing is showing a readme file and i used powerISO and daemontools and the same thing happened. What settings in the BIOS would get me ? Like im pretty sure i have everything right. I have the Rebels Deluxe Bios. lets go down a list.
(G)MCH : second setting FSB Voltage : 1.4 mem freq: 533 ram timings : 4-4-4-12 PCIe : Fixed 100 (no settings for PCI on 33) Spread Spectrum disabled Parallel ports disabled.
