Default Whats so good about 2 GB?

Well i have 1 GB of ram... and my system runs pretty well. I was wondering , is it worth spending another 150 dollars on another Gigabyte of ram? Because i also want to get a new case(Antec p180) , the MX518 and an X-Trac Hybrid. Im pretty low on cash income so im trying to get whats best for my computer.

Another reason why im hesitating is because for some reason , in order to get 2.6 on my E6300 i need 1.3800 Vcore... I think theres something wrong there. Either i have bad ram , or a bad CPU.

what you think?

You can leave lots of programs open while you game and not get that stuttering effect when you start paging ram.

I don't neccessarily agree. 1 gb of ram is faster in benches but 2 gb helps in a couple of games, specifically BF2 and Oblivion. Depends on what you do with the system. If you plan on goin vista anytime soon (why?) then two gb is a benefit.

exactly, i became known as Mr Pagefile while me and Fury played on Rainbow Six: Vegas on co-op over hamachi

i kept going onto the pagefile, then having to sit for like 5 mins until task manager opened so i could close it.

yeah

do you think i should save up for a E6600? That would be kind of a waste since i just got an E6300 like a month ago...

Im really stuck , mainly because i really want to overclock but somethings just not working. Its either my ram , or my CPU , but the warranty has expired
I cant get above 380 FSB. So i think its my RAM. Should i save for a new set of 2GB ram? I heard the Biostar TForce 965PT is real picky.

You keep wondering if it's your ram that's holding you back, so why don't you answer that question for yourself? Put your ram on a large divider to take it out of the equation and see how high you can OC.
