Smile Memory Questions

1.) Is there is really any more add performance once over DDR2800??
2.) IS EPP really make a differnce?
3.) Do timings matter anymore?

1.) Is there is really any more add performance once over DDR2800?
Memory speed(bandwidth) is like the horsepower in a car. Yes, more hp gives you more performance. But can the car handle all that horsepower? The system's specs&configurations and cooling will matter.

2.) IS EPP really make a differnce?
EPP stands for "Enhanced Performance Profile". If the MoBo supports this feature, it will automatically pick up the factory specs of the memory modules. This is for people who don't know how to configure their systems and/or are afraid to do it.

3.) Do timings matter anymore?
Timings can be referred as the torque in a car. Torque compensates the horsepower.
Timings still matter, but not as much as DDR-I in an AMD based system. With DDR-II, 4-4-4-12 is perfectly fine.

Blessings,

Depends on what applications you're using as far as the timings go... Benchmarks? Sure, timings make a difference. Games? very very little difference, to the point where it's almost as if you didn't do anything.
