Default Mem timings and maybe a voltage increase?

Guys i cant seem to get my timmings any tighter than what is shown in the pics below....if i change the Ras# Percetage to anything lower than 6 it wont post.

Do i need to move up the voltage on the memory at all? its at 2.24V right now (auto) ?

You could try a 4-4-4-12 with 2.35 or 2.40v.

I think anything above 500mhz requires 2.30v or more and you're already at 524. So, do cas 4-4-4 with the Vdimm I suggested.

you could always just run your ram at a lower speed to tighten up the timings... i took my ram down from 800 at 4-4-4-12 to 700 at 3-3-3-6... you could do the same

That's an age old question...

For Intel, particularly the CPU you have, higher speed.

really? many would argue that timings are more prone to performance gains.

I guess I was being too general... If the timings are only being dropped a notch or two and you have to sacrifice 100-200mhz for it, I always thought that for Intel CPUs the mhz was better.

Both, specially staying with 4-4-4, the higher the better of course but to reach 550mhz on a 4-4-4? You'd need somewhere around 2.60v and that's achievable but at what cost? I know OCZ has a lifetime warranty but can the OCZ withstand a 2.60v 24/7?

For DDR2? Cas 4-4-4 is where the better performance is from regardless of the RAM's frequency. Frequency plays a small roll but still, 500mhz is what you should hit, so lower your ratio and hit the speed you have with 4-4-4 timings and 1000mhz total.

And why is it that your CPU has a 12 multi? ES by any chance?

Drop down to 10 or 9 and 3.40ghz will be better with higher fsb and frequencies at lower latencies, 4-4-4 that is.

Sacrifice CPU frequency and everything else as FSB is the most important thing to speed up.
